Hey, Perry finally came out with their mercenaries range- Pikes and crossbows!

Like they were building them for us... hmm.Dodgy

it's a conspiracy!
I'm currently a knight, but someday I have dreams of advancing to Asarnil Dragonlord.

Not a Bretonnian knight, though. I want to be one of those cool Arabyan Mamluks.

- Those are not true 28mm scale, they are 1:72, whereas warhammer are rather 1:50. Those miniatures will look awfully misplaced next to warhammer models.

Finally! I'll be getting at least two of those boxes for sure! Damn, I'll never have the time to paint them though...

Hmm, I did see that they noted them not being up-scaled 1:72 models, so you might be right there, but usually that sort of models are way smaller (I have a few hundred of them).

Has anybody found a good alternative for Alcatani Pikemen? All the classical spearmen/pikemen I've seen (including the excellent plastics from Immortal and Victrix that I'd love to use) seem to have shields sculpted directly onto the bodies/arms. Maybe a headswap from some plastic hoplites onto Late Medieval bodies (Perry continental mercenaries?)?

Not sure how long this may last, but this guy got some custom dwarfs made to resemble the old citadel/marauder dwarfs from long ago. He is offering them on a limited basis. They are brilliant for Dogs of War dwarfs because they have a very "renaissance" look to them. Right now only the basic core infantry are being offered, which aren't armed perfectly for WFB, but he has many many more which I hope will be offered soon. They aren't cheap, and shipping to the US will be murder probably, but they are great, and would give you a unique looking unit in the old school GW tradition.

How to get them:

All the dwarfs he has done:

Some goblins too (perfect for halfing proxies):

Great suggestions so far Smile

Am liking those eBob ones, they look like they would make great 'militia' style pikemen.

Tell me, where may I find my current Holy Grail of miniatures, affordably-priced halflings?

Not sure if anyone had seen this range, it is a bit more suitable for Mordheim, but there are some fantastic character models in there, as well as flavor pieces to ad on to large regiments. Every militia unit needs some beggars and jesters Big Grin

Just found this one - http://progloriaminiatures.blogspot.de/

Not a massive selection currently, but some nice villagers (suitable for militia) plus the Hackbut would be great as a 'counts as' Espringal in a renaissance / Landsknecht style army..

If we can get enough people to vote this in on Wargames Factory they will put these into production

You don't actually have to order them for it to count. it's just a loose promise that you will buy some if they release it

Just seen a KickStarter for some new plastics which may work nicely for Dogs of War, https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/has...ntasy-huma

These in particular may make nice Broken Swords - https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/assets/001/...1395075063

Sweet! They really envoke the mercenary feel, even if the majority look more Estalian than Tilean. Those knights could make some really cool Broken Lances though.

Too big for my Perry-dominated army, I think. But we'll see when they are released. They might fit well for my Imperials though.

Pro Gloria just started their IndieGoGo campaign for plastic Landsneckt Pikemen. Ideal for Empire-styled Dogs of War (and also for Empire armies in general as it should be simple to swap the pikes out for spears or halberds). https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/plast...knecht-box - They're also doing a deal on Hackbuts as an extra, these make decent Espringal equivalents.
