So this is more for those of you who live in the US (sorry rest of the world)

But who's going to the MWR this weekend up in Illinois?

I'll be there with my Dwarves, who were/are my first and favorate army. My Dogs of War army is...well gone. It just didn't seem like it would fair well in 8th ed without my having to buy lots of models, and I never really got into painting the poor lads!

For those of you who don't know, Mid-West Rampage is a comp'ed touriment, awarding points for the whole shi-bang: Comp, Painting, Sports, Battlepoints, Gentlemen Points...
It also requires you to bring 250 points of Dogs of War.
As aforementioned I am taking my Dwarves:

Lord Azaghul: shieldbearers, gw Ro Kragg/Fury/Snorri Ro Stone/Spite/Furnace 301
Thorin Stonehelm: bsb OS, Ro Grommil/Preservation/Stiking 160
Telchar the Smith: gw, Ro stone Spellbreaking 104

Core:
21 Warriors sh FC 214
21 Longbeards sh FC Battle/Stocism 327
10 Thunderers sh 150
10 Quarrellers sh 120
SP
15 Hammerers sh STD/MU Grungni 263
15 Slayers gaint slayersx2 195
Bolt Thrower: eng Ro Immolation 90
Bolt Thrower: eng Ro Burning 65
Rare
Organ Gun 120
Gyrocopter 140
Dogs of War: 5 Ironguts.

I'm already locked into the list. And of course it is fully painted, the Ironguts are even converted a bit to look more dwarfy. Its a list I'm very comfortable with, and a very high WPS comp score of 4103!

If anyone is else is coming, stop by and say hi.

I'll be bumbling along with my Dwarfs again this year. Smile Scored a 19 on WPS, yours is a 20; pretty close lists. Good luck, see you there I suppose.

Same to you! I hope to play lots of Greenskins!Tongue
I'll be there with my Chaos Dwarfs. I got a 21 on WPS.

Would I be wrong in presuming jpf1982 is Joe F? I suspect I will be seeing you there! Tongue LOL

Edit: I hope to play Dwarfs as I rarely play against them. No Tomb Kings sadly, as I love fighting them.
Ah swiss, I remember you up at the Battlezone Haiwatha tourney.

I had my dwarves then too!
Huzzah! That was a good tournament. Keep me informed, if there is another tournament Dan and I will want to attend. Come up and say hi to me when you see me.

I'll be running the Indy GT Chaos Dwarfs. I'm scrambling to get my Obsidian Guard done, and I hope they turn out alright. We'll see. I have a back up plan just in case...
I played the Dwarfs last year; I really wanted to run my Dogs of War army this year; but there just wasn't a reasonable time table for me to get them done. Sad Alas... My list is changed a little from last year. Couple different units, equipment changes, different Dogs of War contingent. Looking forward to it.

I'll be dragging a couple board games with me for the event; in case either of you are interested in playing at some point. Formula De and Chaos in the Old World.
I was wondering about that. My Dogs of War is most likely going to be the Hobgoblin Khan to fit with my Chaos Dwarfs.

I'll be in late Friday as I'm carpooling with John W. Though Saturday I'd very much be up for Chaos in the Old World! I'd like to call Nurgle right now if at all possible. Wink
Cool, always up for good game or 5. I should be arriving friday afternoon, early evening. A friend of mine and I are car pooling up, and we both have friday off. (he's a skaven player)

I'm looking foward to this weeking, this will be my first time, and this event comes highly recommended for people who are interested in the full hobby aspect in a touriment setting.
IE not just crushing you opponent with the latest army!
Yeah, I thoroughly enjoy the tournament. I've never played Chaos in the old World before. I just picked it up literally yesteday; I've read the instructions like 5 times though. Smile
Lord Azaghul and I fought round 1... I'll post the battle rep later...

However, I will say I had a VERY good game against him. My favorite game so far. VERY good game.
Oh what a fun time!
I took 2nd Overall and 2nd Best General with my dwarves!
I played: CD's, Dogs of War, LM, DWV, VC. Went 5-0
Had an absolute blast and I will make a solid effort to show up next year.
Were all glad you had a good time. Grat's with the Dwarfs. I went down flailing on day 2... Sad
You got busted up by skaven all day on day two didn't you?

After the game josh mentioned toning down his list for next year or other fantasy events, he felt he should have lost that game, but the skaven can really pull some crazy deveistating shannagins out, and have such a massive damage potential.

But he also has a fair bit of experence playing vs dwarves (minus the anvil of course!) I will say that I was suprised he pulled it out against you - it looked like you had him nearly tabled at one point.

The new skaven are really nasty!
Yeah it should've been my game. I made 1 mistake and that was running the longbeards into the front of the bell unit instead of taking an extra turn and getting them around to the flank. Even after that I still probably had the game won until my dice betrayed me on the bottom of turn 6 when I managed to fail a LD 9 Stubborn check WITH a BSB re-roll! ACK!!!

Oh well, 'cest le' vie
