I'm afraid i have to break some bad news to you all.
Gold and Glory Issue #2 was due to be released tomorrow. However as you could not have failed to notice, there have been some problems around here. With our commitment to creating, for you, the premier Dogs of War site, we need to get things back on track. Also as some of you may have experienced there can often be times when home life gets in the way of things.

Rather than release a slapdash botch job, we want to make sure that each issue lives up to the high standards of the first one. For this reason issue #2 will be released, at the latest 10th July, hopefully sooner. As soon as it's ready we will announce it's release so you won't miss a moment of reading it Wink

we are sorry for the delay.
No problemo, and I think its a good call.

Rather have a good mag.

Well done all.
Just get it done right, we're not fretting it's a few days late. It's not like you are professional staff of 200 putting it out.
I have spoken to ryanadamma <sp?> and he has his direction for art.I instructed him to work on the "ad" for the Word of Hasut first. The reason for this is simple, this gives us an excellen vehicle to promote the site and the up coming 2nd issue of Gold and Glory.

Baumann who is assembling this and what app is being used. If need be I can help as WoH is nearly finished... However this is going to take me away from working on restoring the site.
Currently i'm putting it together, and i'm using scribus.

If anyone reads this who fancies helping put together the mag, then please get in touch.
I hope some of my pics can be seen in Issue 2!
So how's the issue coming? With the current due date only a few days away. Hope everything is going well and smoothly Smile
Dude, give them a break the 10th isn't til Friday and even then you want them to get it right and not be an error filled mess.
I'm just asking if everything is going all right - not like I'm demanding the issue or anything. No need to act so defensive over a harmless question.
bilbo please, no need to go overboard on the pipeweed again. lol

I wasn't intending to be defensive (I'm not even working on it) but the first post stated

Quote:#2 will be released, at the latest 10th July.

I don't go overboard with the pipeweed, I can't even get decent Longbottom Leaf anymore.
The issue may actually be pushed back a few days depending on Baumann's schedule. Stay tuned.

oh manDodgy, I'm waiting soo long! But you're right, make the job good , not fast!
As it stands, we are still looking for a designer layout type person, until then it's being done by inexperienced amateurs who are still getting to grips with the publishing software.
I haven't done Dektop Publishing in years so I'm not volunteering.
I will chip in with reviewing it and perhaps assembling the cover.

How many pages is it? I'm not saying I'm doing it... just wanted to know...
If you are really desperate for someone to do layout I could help and focus on that specifically on that but I don't know if I'll be able to help with the 2nd edition as I don't even have any PDF software system
But I could learn it for the third episode and lend a hand.

I'm more than willing to wait patiently for another great edition of this eZine
Layout is currently being handled, you won't believe who volunteered. I personally believe that he's slightly mad (Crazy that is).

If you want a pdf system look for CutePDF writer. It allows you to Print to a PDF file. I install it on all of the computers I use and for private use it's free.
Ok to get us over the hump we need a cover art, I'll check and see who can help but what are everyones though on what it should be?

I'll also check with ryanadamma.
I'm thinking of Crossbowmen, maybe even shooting at Ogres.

Better yet would be Crossbowmen on the Front and Ogre pincushions on the Rear Cover.

I think it would fit the ezine this issue.
Something xbow related, maybe a collage of the ROR xbow units ...

Would be a digital remastered Xbow with ogres-comicart cover be good? This I can perhaps do!
I think we would have to see it.

Remastered, is this art you've done yourself?

Yes, first I draw it on the paper, then I scan and remaster it.
What is the status of the rest of the issue?
