Choose your favorite Regiments of Renown and tell us why you think they are great. I'm sure were all going to end up picking the same bunch in the top 4 or 5 so let's just go with top 4.
1-Lumpin Croop-Hallings, need I say more? I would field these if they were total crap, which they aren't.
2-Slayer Pirates-Slayres? and Pirates? Two of the best things ever! Seriously this unit puts the hurt out and being unbreakable is the icing on the cake.
3-Bearmen of Ursulo-Let's face it, Beorg is possibly the best target ever in the game for 'The Bears Anger'. Puts him up to what, like 6 S7 attacks or something crazy. Plus that banner? If you get the spell off on a turn they charged your getting 6 S7 attacks that hit on 2's and wound on 2's? Freakin dude is a powerhouse.
4-Cursed Company-Honestly there are better regiments out there in terms of useful output. These guys don't deal much damage, and they aren't some uber undead unit; I'm really basing this more off of the original models than anything else. Where else are you going to get full Orc, Lizardmen and Dwarf skeletons? Suweet...

3. Venators
Why? Because they got really shiny armour, and that is really cool.
RoR's I like!
1. Asarnil -- fast-moving Terror, and Breath = the ultimate Captasus
2. Beorg's Bearmen -- buffable fighting non-slot Lord on a 20mm base in a cheap ItP unit? = awesome RnF brick!
3. Mengil's Manflayers -- extra shots w/ BS & Poison & non-slot Elf Captain = the ultimate Pistol Duellists
4. Voland's Venators -- IC Knights with a non-slot Captain = excellent
5. Giants of Albion -- 2 Terror-causing Giants with extra Auto-win chances & free Beasts Wizard = decent unit
RoR's I'm not big fan of
1. Max' Marksmen -- expensive, expensive, expensive!
2. Braganza's Besiegers -- look great, but even worse points!
3. Vespero's Vendetta -- plain pistols are better.
4. Ricco's Guard -- WS4 HA Pikes with a non-slot Captain = decent RnF brick
I have not yet fielded, but am intrigued by Slayer Pirates. I think they'd do well.
Alcatani fellowship. look kewl, roderigo delmonte is a kewl sounding name, and they're cheaper than the others. Second favorite is leopold's leopards, cause leopold has a pistol...and pistols are neat.

The Alcatani Fellowship is my all time favourite, mainly because of the helmets
don’t really think that I will ever field them though (guess I use them as normal pikes then)
Never fielded any RoRs before so haven’t got a clue who is best, but I am going to try Asarnil and Beorg soon.

Best special choice we have in our entire list. Not much better than a tough as nails lord choice, backed up by a banner that means he's hitting on at worst 3's, and more often than not, 2's in the first round of combat.
Won't go so far as to say best choice flat out. Asarnil is a good competitor there bringing a dragon and flames to the field.
@kilian: Given that Dogs of War have 4 Special slots, what are you using all of them for that are so much better that it prevents you from taking Beorg?

I think there's a law of diminishing returns for Maneaters. Probably 3x2 is enough.
