Okay, after being utterly disappointed in the performance of my pikes over the past couple of games I am going to try something a little different. This list is a mix of magic/melee and designed to be in your face and brutal in combat.

Lv4 Wizard, 2 Powerstones, warhorse (275)
Lv2 Wizard, 2 Dispel Scrolls (145)
Paymaster, HA, Enchanted Shield, Morningstar (71)
Captasus, HA, Sh, Lance, Pegasus (110)

2x10 Duellists, pistols (180)
2x5 LC, spears, musician (150)
5 HC, barding (105)

15 Beorg/Bearmen (295)
13 Norse, great weapons (117)
2x2 Maneaters, great weapons (344)

2 Rhinox Riders (200)

Thoughts?

Somehow I screwed up my math the first time around. I think my brain was fried from studying drop zone formulas for pathfinder school. This list comes in at 1992. I had to drop two Norse from the list to make it legal so I will end up running them 7x2 instead of 5x3.
This is far superior to any Pike-based list. You've got more mobility and the ability to take the fight to the enemy. I like it.

The only changes I'd suggest would be tweaks, like dumping the Power Stones and Lv.2 for a Truthsayer.

Or maybe swapping the Great Weapons for a Brace of Handguns
Good suggestions but my group doesn't allow anything from Albion and there are a lot of players who field chariots up here and the maneaters with GW are my only reliable S7 unit, which is why I went that route rather than the handguns.
Oh, OK, then yeah, GW Maneaters are awesome.

The Albion thing should be similar to Dogs of War, in that only Dogs of War can get them if the group is picky that way. But if you have the Rhinox, that's plenty good enough.

Anyhow, double-check your points - some stuff seems off (e.g. 2x LC = 175 pts)
Yeah, my math was off on a couple of things. Should be straight now.
IMO, you'd do better with more Norse than Powerstones.
I've got a couple of games lined up this week and I'll try each version and see how they do. One is against VC and one is against Tomb Kings.
Both of those are magic-heavy. I'd give the Lord the Dispel Staff, esp. against TK.
Looks solid! I have no idea how rhinox riders will perform these days, I'd imaging very well, but let us know how your games go.

Good luck!

Peyton
