Smile Like it Uryens. Nice storytelling. Can we see some close-ups on the troops please? If possible in comparison with GW or Foundry models. I like what I see very much Heart

Question to you Uryens.
Quote:the army of the Verneegde Marienberg Compagnie
Verneegde... as in united?

The Dutch East India Company a.k.a. VOC was a gathering of 12 Companies. All these "East India" Companies were united in to one big company with one single board of directors called "De Heeren Zeventien" The gentlemen seventeen. Therefore is was called theUnited East india Company. This is written: Vereenigde Oost Indische Kompagnie.
Guess where I got my inspiration from Wink

I will rephoto them at some point of course and in close up too.

The figures are a little smaller than GW, but more in proportion too, but while they wouldnt mix in the same unit, the will look ok on the same battlefield.

Oh, and thanks for correcting my spelling it should be Vereenigde, my bad...
Some fluff on them:

Quote:The Vereenigde Marienburg Compagnie, or VMC, is a company that has recently been chartered by the Ten of Marienburg and in that charter given far ranging powers. It is an amalgam of several smaller companies, run by various trading houses of Marienburg that have operated for years with mixed fortunes.

Powers they have been granted include the authorisation to wage war, make alliances and treatise, found settlements and even mint their own coinage as needed.

This has been done for a number of reasons, primarily to increase the profitability of the newly opened trade routes for spices to the far east and the new world, avoiding the all or nothing troubles of independent ventures.

In addition it also gives the company the power and authority to protect itself against pirates and also compete against other trading powers.

Its first few years of trading so far have been incredibly profitable and shares in the company are trading at a premium in the Exchange and so the company is expanding, east to Nippon and West to the Old World, wherever there is profit in trade of any sort to be had.

Now their shareholders include not only the powerful and rich houses of Marienburg but also it is rumoured the likes of the Graf of Middenheim and perhaps other Elector Counts of the Empire as well.

And so, the VMC has ships sailing on every see and calling at every port, and is even beginning to establish havens and way stations along some of the longer routes.

Anthoniozoon “Zoon” van Riekert is master of the Vergulde Draek and also the senior agent, or Opperhoofd, for the Vereenigde Marienburg Compagnie or United Marienburg Company.

Zoon van Riekert is a wealthy, educated man, a native of Marienburg and a merchant and sailor by birth, he is also a brutal disciplinarian, both of his own men and any one under his sphere of influence. But he is also a successful captain and merchant too.

He is in his mid thirties and is an experienced commander, navigator and businessman and is honoured to be given command and responsibility of this business venture, and he knows there is the chance to make a fortune in the trade of spices and exotic goods back to the Old World.

Awesome, Uryens.
nice blimp !! what does non Pirates need with a blimp??
what's a blimp?
A balloon with engines to move it forward - think zeppelin without the rigid internal framework.

Non-pirates need the blimp to counter the pirate threat by sneaking up on them quietly so we can nick their loot.
here is a picture of a famous blimp!!

hope this help and thanks B R
Very nice! Ever use it in a game?
Nah, it would need a scenario, but I will do one day I think, maybe "counts as steamtank" or something.
