Dogs of War

Just getting this little army project off the ground. I'm going to build a small Empire army which will be Ulric themed - none of that pansy Sigmar stuff here. ::heretic:: For friendly games I'll use the Ulric list in the 2004 annual, otherwise I'll just use the regualr 7th ed Empire book but keep it as Ulric as possible, so priest of Ulric (Sigmar), no stanks, only Knights of the White Wolf etc.

if you use 7th edition empire you can use state troops from middenhiem/troops paid and upkept by the clergy of ulric, plus free company can be the flock (so to speak) and stuff. you can use cannons (ulrics thunder cannon battery), etc

just some ideas for you.

I know. It's just going to be a fun casual play army.

Got him at a GW store in Germany. I've got a mounted one I need to paint up too.

I rarely saw Ulric Warrior Priests in GW Philadelphia, and one of the former staff members had a Cult of Ulric army.

I still wonder why they got rid of Ulric in the Empire book when he was prominent in Storm of Chaos. Ulric home city was not overrun, and the Sigmarites knew that Sigmar followed Ulric. There was really no problem that they needed to rid the book of Ulric. Now removing the limtation on the Steam Tank was just silly.

I had a spur of the moment idea to do a Ulrican army when the new Heraldry book came out, thankfully I quenched that (Too much other stuff to do, like Dogs of War for example).
Maybe the floating Wolf Pelt Priests put me off though. I'm not a fan of that look, it looks a bit silly too me. But the paint job you've put on him is pretty good.

Maybe they'll shove Ulric stuff back into the 8th edition Empire Book. I mean, they must be running out of new stuff to put in soon... Can't just keep on throwing Warmachines and Arch Lectors into the book.

And I was thinking the next Empirebook was just Tanks, War Altars and War Machines.

I think one of the LGS around here (Fandom II) might still have one or two on the shelves. I have a cult of Ulric army myself - although I use the '85 Norsemen as my army troops. Amazing how many Champions of Ulric you can shoehorn into 2K...

Any Teutogen Guards coming?
I run a Middenheim themed army with Teutogen Guards as GS's(They are the paymasters bodyguard as well) but as you said, the cloaks are a pain in the ***
