So, here's a tentative list I've written up for my Dogs of War. With a few mates starting up, they want to get their armies moving at a slightly faster pace than I'm currently working. I figure with a 1750 tourney in March, writing up a list will give me a goal to head towards.

So here's the list. The numbers in brackets are the total number in the squad (Incluring leaders, standard bearers, etc).

Heroes 639
Paymaster, Heavy Armour, Enchanted Shield 69
Hireling Wizard 2xScroll 110
Asarnil 460

Core 582
Duellists (8) 72 points
Light Cavalry (5) 55 points
Crossbowmen (10) 80
Marksmen of Miragliano (10) 180
Voland Venators (5) 195

Special 515
Bearmen of Urslo (20) 335
Lumpin Croops (6) 90
Maneater, Heavy Armour, Great Weapon 90ish

Total : 1736, 14 spare points.

A few points and questions.

1) Paymaster hasn't been mounted because welll... my model isn't mounted. I'm trying to track down another figure of the Paymaster, but we'll see what happens. For now, he's staying on foot.

2) Marksmen of Miragliano are in. I have the models painted... so... yeah. Would rather use them as is, because well... Regiments are fun and charactful. I think I've got a decent amount of shooting anyway, so they could be helpful (even if I can get 2x as many Crossbows for the same points).

3) Asarnil too good in 1750? I'm not sure. I guess with all these Stegadons, Hydras and stuff flying around he shouldn't be too bad. However they're all ground based terror causers... I'd hate to cut him because he's currently what I'm painting, but if it's going to cause my opponents grief...

And that's pretty much it. I unfortunately have to put up with a leadership 7 general, but thems the breaks when you have to take a crappy Paymaster.
Paymaster is fine - just put him somewhere safe, like the Bearmen.

Marksmen are very expensive, you can't field them as regular Crossbows to save points?

Asarnil is fine, take him.

Just make sure your Wizard is Beasts, for Beorg.
No comments on the list. You'll do fine first to fight with this list. For better or worse it is a good looking list to me Wink

Find any mounted sort of knight-ish creature. Greenstuff a key on him, tadaaa paymaster

Yes you can but BS4 and one BS5 is worth double the cost. Stick with youre feeling, youre doing fine!

I have him in a 1800 point list as well, he's good, he's a bonus let them whine!

3 units with leadership 7, you can bear the loss, don't worry. You're wizard is more important than a captain with +1 leadership. Again that is the same choise I have made.
Yeah, plan was Paymaster in the Bearmen. I suppose the Wizard goes in there as well just in case I can get Bears Anger off (Although, with only 2 power dice and at least 2 dispel dice looking at me, I think the odds are slim).

As for the Marksmen... well... we'll see. I'll keep them as is for now, because it'll be troublesome enough getting everything painted by then, let alone say another 10 models that I need to get all the bits for, fill in gaps, paint, etc (Cause I'm using Empire Archers with Militia XBows as my Crossbowmen). I also like the character behind Regiments of Renown, so it feels right to use the Marksmen as the actual Marksmen. But we'll see how I
go.

Edit : @Henerius
The thing is though... I like my characters to have character. Besides, I just made my Paymaster for the Golden Pike 2 competition, what kind've general would I be if I didn't use my stunning model Smile. I like to have mounted and unmounted versions of the same character (ala the Mordheim type guys) - I'm actually making an unmounted Asarnil just in case Deathfang ever gets shot out from underneath him, so gonna track down another Crewman to convert. Even though I know it's probably safer to have him mounted, I am willing to sacrifice a bit to have him on foot to use my current model (And it's one less I have to paint!).
I wouldn't worry about Asarnil. It's not like the DE players think "Should I take this hydra? It's pretty good..."

Heh, that's a good one!
everything looks good.
If you are worry about fair play with the high elf on dragon (asarnil), just sent him on war machine duty. Take out cannons, stream tanks and other flying heroes. any of the terror/fear elements Stegadons, hydras, Crused Company. He would also do well again Flying Cavlary, as they usally are not in large numbers. Then once that is done, if the game has points for owning part of the board, take a corner. If the other player throws a fit, just say with a smile well he could be attacking you in the flank. Most will say, good point. Wink
Well thank you for the comments guys. Since there's no glaring bad points in the army (Other than perhaps the overpriced Marksmen and Paymaster on foot - both which I can't really change up at this stage) I think I'll stick with this army list.

Now it's just a matter of painting everything up! Things are going well though, really motivated now. Got some more figures out for filing and basing while I keep on slugging away at Deathfang.
