Just thought I would post some interesting pictures.
While I was home visiting my parents last weekend I took the opportunity of picking up some of my older boxes of models which included these.
Yes that is 111 halflings plus 2 hot pots.
I picked these up years ago during a GW sale for next to nothing as I was working on a halfling army list which eventually got forgotten about. Just need to figure out how to give some of them spears to give some variety to them.
Matt
Sweet potato pie!
Thats a superb force of Mootfolk and I am entirely jelouse of you for owning them!
[Jedi mind trick] send all your halflings to me now[/Jedi mind trick]
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME WITH ALL THOSE HALFLINGS?!?!?!?!?!??!
You are really lucky sir, take good care of those little guys.
If you want to really see a LOT of halflings, go on warseer in the Fantasy project logs and look up The Moot Strikes Back. The guy has over 500 halflings, including spearmen, hot pots, archers, everything.
What I would not give to have all those halflings...
Cheers
Peyton
I think Bilbo's heart may give out when he sees all of them!
I miss the GW sales :-(
That's a lot of Halflings. My Lord of the Rings army has only 50 Hobbits.
You can send a few my way.
Mattman I hate you.

Yeah, if the first 500 didn't kill him.
Jikoun lowered his sky glass, a scout yelled, "I counted 500 sir" Not wasting any time, the paymaster spoke is shock, "good lord, they breed like rabbits!" Turning to face the paymaster, Blackmane had the look of distaste on his face. The paymaster always did have a habit of describing the water before the storm. The ideas in his head of having this man replaced were quickly broken, "another 100 coming from north by east, sir". Turning his eyes to the new army, Jikoun spots the 100 beening lead by Lumpin Croop. Smiling, "Tell the huntmen to ready the hounds, and have a unit of maneaters to adavance on the Hot Pots"
"Hounds?, are we planning on going Hunting? asked the paymaster.
Smiling even more, turning without a word. Jikoun walked right up to the remaining Maneaters. "You boys feel like having Chicken tonight!?"

Really, I might just go and nip over and have a look.
Finding them with spears is very difficult these days but i must get my hands on some.
Matt
I said you and what army bilbo you did not have to bring this one!lol
Wow mattman that is a nice army i hope you can feed them
sounds like the plagues from the bible... and the fith plague is a horde of halflings, eaten the land empty!
And I guess on a stick roasted they make good, orc&goblin or Ogre food

either that or feed them to ogre/giants, they would love this feast! yum!!
Cheers for all the comments guys.
I went and had a look at the blog on Warseer and the guys halfling army is very impressive. It has given me some thoughts and inspirations for expanding my halflings into a proper army!
Matt
so when do we get to see these bad boys painted?

At my usual pace maybe never

I have a real problem sitting down and painting. In my years of playing Warhammer I have been through 2 full High Elf armies (one with old models, one with new) and only about half a dozen models have managed to get painted.

I find I am more likely to sit down and make some scenery or terrain rather than paint
Matt
Hmm, I quite like painting...
Whats your scenery like? I coul dpaint figures for you if you make scenery for me? lol

lol, np totally understandable. just take your time if you do paint them.
Have a test model, Use games workshop paint or a non-oil base paint that way if you dont like what you see just use some soap and water, then start again.
wow...that's a crap ton of halflings
Lotr wise I have 130 hobbits-since the coming of war of the ring I have no idea of what to do with them lol
so they sit painted and based on my shelf looking fine
I'd love to have all those halflings-I have about half that in ratlings, but its just not the same
Imagine the costs of feeding that army!
They just shoot game animales in the area, unfortunately they deplete the game in an area quickly so they have to keep moving around.
