So, the title sums it up. I've already converted a couple of Nippon guys, see my other posts, but i really want to use them with my Tilean Merc army as maybe a reinforcement force.

I thought they might have travelled the sea looking for gold when they find this great land full of wealth and they're hired by these oriental people to fight off a giant horde of Beastmen or something and then decide to stay because of all the gold they can get.

I dont know, any suggestions?

Which post is that then? Tongue
I'd see nothing wrong with it though, Dogs of War are supposed to be an army that can be made up of many races and species.

What are the Nipponese(sp?) going to represent?
Surley they represent duelists with two HWs ? With them operating Like Druchi shades foward of your Dogs of War army ? Or if opponett allows them as a house rule make them in to scouts behind the enemy lines and their blow pipes and ninja stars can be used to proxy the duelists pistols with str4 blowfish poison !
No problem at all - the Dogs of War army is meant to be a diverse one. As long as it's clear what they are meant to represent - no probs at all...
Actually they could be used to to represent the Manflayers themselves! That'd be pretty nice Smile
Surely Duellists with Throwing Knivces fits the bill perfectly? It's just a pity that Extra Hand weapons + Throwing Knivces cost as much as a pistol.
I could see them conts as Vespero's Vendetta pretty well. They might not have the cloak, but you can argue that their 'mad ninja skills' is why they get the armour save.
I developed a Nippon list a while back I need to reload it.
And I was joking with our favourite Swede about making a Nippon list. I was going to check their military/mythological history to see what I could come up with. I did have Nippon Pirates in the Pirates of Sartosa Army List.
The above is good to hear. I have a Samurai army for WAB. I was wondering if I could use it in WFB.
Don't see why not - make it a counts as Empire army and you're good

This would be awesome!!
Is there any chance I could see those models? a link maybe? Wink
If I do another army, one that has crossed my mind is a dual purpose Empire Dogs of War Army based on a Nippon theme... Usable for Dogs of War wen the rules are allowed and Empire when they are not.
I've been tempted to build a Dogs of War army just so I can three unsupported armies, Choas Dwarfs and Slayers are my main armies that I play for fun.
@ Willmark: I know the idea, did the same with my Estalians, right know I am busy completing bardingless knights. But Nippon you are going to try? Ashugari spearmen, Samurai knights, ninja duellist? with the ninja maneater, offcourse Tongue.

@Bilbo: You play Slayers for fun, I don't play against them for fun. In my opinion it was a broken army even before 7th edition brought us Dark Elves and Daemons. On the other side of the spectrum is Chaos Dwarves. I've played against the revised Chaos Dwarves list from the US. They that was fun to play against, no pushover, just good competition.
My slayer army isn't anything close to the 18 Doomseeker list that was the reported tournament list when they came out. Mine at 2k has 4 doomies, 3 units of Slayer Blocks (no less than 17 models each), Long Drong's Pirate Slayers, Hewer led by a Daemon Slayer, Dragon Slayer BSB and another Dragon Slayer. I actually have people request to play me. My Chaos Dwarfs use the GW Ravening Hordes list.
I agree.. you do play it for fun Wink
I say Hell yea !!!!
i have slayer dwarf pirates and there no list
but Bilbo help me with a start of one
i say go for it

Yep, I've seen Dave Taylor's grand Army of Cathy and that is pretty cool. I think however I like Nippon better Wink

I do have an Empire army as well. I have about 5000 points of Samurai and Ashiguru. I am adding more Ashiguru with yaris and arqubus. So I suppose Empire would be a good start for them. They are Clan War figures and Old Glory.
Clan War is not a bad route to go I have quite a few of those minis.
I have the regular army list and something on the Regiments of Renown.I was lucky enough to get them from the old site before GW ruined it.They seem to be too big to put them all as attachments. I will post different posts to get them all showing.
