Next up, I'm swapping in some of the new plastic trolls.

And here are the new river trolls (yhetees). I just liked the new models too much not to get some.

I quite like this army and was wondering how you made your ship? I'm currently using skaven bits to make one, but I'm finding it hard to find certain pieces. What did you use?

Also, I like the idea of the ninja ogre, randomly coming in. Fits well with the idea of a ninja aassassin.

I used the Pirate Dinghy from Playmobil. Found two on sale for around $15 each.

Finally, the finished 3K army ('til the new book comes out):

Well, the new book is due out early next month. Can't wait to see what kinds of things I can find to add to this army.

This being a pirate army, I have not chosen to add mournfang cav or one of the big beasties, although I might try modeling up a counts-as stonehorn with my landship.

The firebelly and ironblaster are new. I am also adding a butcher to use lore of death. Each of the ogre units has been increased by one. I'll post pics as I go.

just wanted to say that your models look really nice. Just love the one with the diving helmet. How did you manage to make that?

The River Pirate

The diving helmet is a big round gob of greenstuff with a few add-ons. The side bits are cut from 40K buildings, the front piece is a skeleton shield with a little more greenstuff, and the top bit is from a space marine something or other.

Great looking army! I particularly like the River Trolls. Have they seen combat yet?

They've seen combat a few times, although not yet under the new army book.

I'm thinking this might be the first army to get a showcase medal.

Edit: why do I always forget these guys are a ogre army??
