It's not that I'm not grateful, but if they are going to make an update for dogs of war I do not wish to be disappointed, and want it to be a thorough job. Sure, just an update with 8th ed rules and pts changes would be okay, but from what it seems they won't do that, since they cannot change pts or rules. But we will see, I'm still reserving my criticism for when it will be needed.

Ye, Braden, I bought 2 of them a few days ago!
Don't want to loose them so soon!^^

But my point is even if it isnt perfect for what you want its more then you would get from GW or anybody else if you want it official.

@Morkash: of course, Tilea.org's Team goal it's to have a BRAND NEW armylist (and, if possible, armybook) for Dogs of War. But here we are not talking about "pikeman it's overpriced" (true), but the game it's to keep Dogs of War alive.
It's possible to refuse any collaboration or help with GW if they will not, at least, fix prices, but we will just obtain the kill of Dogs of War army.
I think it's just like you ask to your parents to get late in the night: you can't ask to go back home at 4:00 am o'clock if your actual limit it's 8:00 pm. We have to go on step by step, what do you think about?

I...I just have to agree with you now. Bronzino and 2 of his guns arrived today and they are made of awesomeness only. All those little details, a guy with a bucket, heck Bronzino himself has crossed cannons on his chestplate! They got so much love in older times We can't let them go down now...
And with your new rules it will be my greatest delight to smash ugly horrors and vomiting plastic trolls with my beloved full metal-cuthroats.

Plus, the Master Gunner is missing a leg! He's chock full of characterful stuff.
I managed to score the crew figures, but am building Bronzino from various parts (including his peg leg). the cannons i will order from Old Glory Miniatures, in the States.
Let's be sure to post pictures of our galloper guns when we're both finished!

This news, if it comes to fruition, is the only thread of hope keeping me from dumping WHFB. If not, then GW will have screwed me out of three armies, and that's over $1,000 bucks worth of minis.
SMc.
(That would be Squats, Samurai for WAB and Dogs of War if it gets dumped.)

I don't want to sound too negative, but not according the last Red Shirt I talked to, as well as a good chunk of the tournament scene, it would appear.
Not that the Red Shirts are the most knowledgeable members of the gaming community.

My local GW is very excited about me building a Dogs of War army 2 of the staff have even given me a few old models they were not using to get it going so it depends if you have a good local store or not i guess also i wasnt thinking about tournaments as the whole idea of those make me yawn i just like to have fun.
But ill say this if the rules are on any GW website then how can GW say you cant use them, just because there not in english doesnt make them unofficial.

I have found that most GW employee's will know what you're talking about with Dogs of War (perhaps even have some of the old models), but will probably state they're not legal anymore due to not being updated in 2 editions now. This will likely be on a case by case basis though.
As for Tournaments. It's up to the organisers. GW don't really run the tournament scene. Dogs of War were widely accepted during 7th edition, and work just as well in 8th with only a couple of FAQ issues (Heck, they need less of a FAQ/Errata than pretty much every official army). So most likely they'll still be accepted during 8th as well.

Since when did their opinion matter? I dont need no namby pamby new army book, or the "permission" of some supposed Official.
My game, played my way.

The local GWs here come to the new insight, that it's not legal anymore to play with DoWs. A friend of mine was asked to pack away his army and come with newer models...because he used white a bit of Marauder miniatures and/or other outdated models (in his greenskin army). But maybe (or hopefully!) that's only a local syndrome, the GW next to me (20 miles...) is a fantasy store where it's no problem to come with a old army...they even have some older miniatures for sale, such as a box of golgfag!

While I do have opinions and anecdotes to add to the comments above, it would take the discussion further away from the OP. Anyone can PM me to continue this sidebar about GW corporate policy or tournaments or local metas, but frankly, it's been hashed out elsewhere in much greater detail.
Let's drag this back onto topic and just say I would like to see this update from Italy come to fruition.

My local GW has usually taken the opposite stance and repeatedly tried to discourage me from my Dogs of War.
But then my local GW discourages or outright says no to anything that isn't on the shelves, particularly specialist games.

I should mention im not having any Regiments of Renown in my first 2000pts and im using plenty of models from the current range like Ironbreakers so maybe thats why they are more then happy with it but its a shame you have that experiance.

The store manager of my local GW keeps trying to get me to take my Dogs of War into the store...unfortunatly about a third of them are non GW and he isnt able to lift that rule!

Nope, my entire army is current GW models, mainly empire troops with a small amount of mordheim, dwarfs and ogres

Any news how is the work on our army list going on? I can't wait :-)
